In our earlier posts, we touched on the timber and wiring aspects of the project.   As groundworks contractors, Bodmans have to strip the topsoil, lay a membrane and then supply and level a layer of clean stone. This is then topped off with a final smaller stone and compacted, leaving a camber to avoid any water settling on the surface.

Fencing to protect several thousand metres of new hedge planting in Wiltshire

This is a continuation of the tree planting program we featured earlier in the year, with all the tree tubes set out by GPS.

Now, we have just completed fencing to protect several thousand metres of new hedge planting as part of a species recovery project.

We used traditional native hedging planted to create new hedges and infill older hedges where gaps were present

Tiny Forest Scheme across Wiltshire

A small plot fenced in Swindon today by Tristan and Tad as part of the Tiny Forest scheme across Wiltshire.

“A Tiny Forest consists of 600 native trees such as Oak, Lime, Elm, Hawthorn and Hazel which will be densely planted in a tennis court-sized plot of land. A Tiny Forest provides accessible green space and facilitates an outdoor classroom for communities to reconnect with nature”.

Mulching Dartmoor and Bovey Tracey in Devon

Tristan has been busy mulching with the Seppi flail and reverse-drive Valtra…

Firstly a 6 ha site near Dinton around juniper bushes and then off to Dartmoor for more of the same the following day.  The poor quality of video is due to the bullet proof window !!

Tristan then went on to Bovey Tracey in Devon – just east of Dartmoor for a site clearance before this became a tip.
