Removal of 30 cherry trees Marlborough

Removal of 30 cherry trees, Marlborough

Rich, Geoff and Simon spent a week at Temple Estate in Marlborough at the end of October. They undertook a variety of jobs which included reducing the number of trees on the driveway. The original planting had alternate lime and cherry trees, but now there was no longer space for both. So the decision was taken to remove the 30 cherry trees and their stumps so that the lime trees could thrive better.

More tree and general clearance work was also undertaken to make way for a house extension…  See the avenue of limes below.

Dismantling a Lime Tree in Tockenham, east of Lyneham and southwest of Royal Wootton Bassett

The lime tree had become unstable due to decay at the base so Rich and his team were called in to dismantle carefully…

We were accompanied by our friend Pierre over from France for a week to see how we do things this side of the channel –  better of course!

Hedge trimming at Manton, Marlborough

We undertook 600m of 8-12ft high Beech hedge trimming at Manton, Marlborough.  The hedge was around the formal gardens, with poor access and tender lawns,  so all the work was done by hand with just a hedge trimmer;  well four actually and using our MEWP where possible!

For details of our tree and hedge surgery capabilities please see our web page here.

Dismantle Lime tree Marlborough

In August we had to dismantle a 100ft lime tree in Marlborough, together with clearing some smaller trees and shrubs and stump removal and grinding.

The timber was collected and moved across to  Barbury Castle Estate on the Marlborough Downs to be used as part of the horse trial course.  We try very hard to recycle as much as we can.

If you require woodchip for the garden or larger projects we have plenty in our yard and you are welcome to collect it FOC.

Please email William to let him know what you require.

Removal of trees and conifer hedging for yard expansion Lacock

Removal trees conifer hedging for yard expansion.  We removed 10 trees and 150 yards of conifer hedging for Stonegate Farmers at Lacock. This was done so that they could extend and improve their yard operation there.  We then took the chippings to another local farm to be used on the cow tracks over the coming winter months.

For details of all our tree surgery capability please see the page here.

Dismantling 12 Poplar trees at The Hall Estate, Bradford on Avon

Dan and Matt started a sectional dismantling 12 Poplar trees at The Hall Estate, Bradford on Avon which were 120′ high.   Having a head for heights is one of the more important requisites of the guys on our team!  What a glorious blue sky – haven’t seen one like that for a few weeks!    Job done and all wood chipped for biomass and delivered locally.

See our images below and here Matt shows how to rig off a large limb safely and controlled. It does not look big from on the ground.  In all,  this project took 2 weeks to complete.  Our tree works have taken us far and wide from Cornwall to Corby since our last newsletter!

Removing self-set alder trees outside Devizes

In March we used our 360° digger to remove self-set alder trees on a lake outside Devizes. Part of an ongoing project with plenty to undertake, work is carried out in small lots to allow the natural balance of the water and habitat to remain

This was part of an ongoing project with plenty to undertake: thus work is carried out in small lots to allow the natural balance of the water and habitat to remain undisturbed. We have submitted an application to the Environment Agency or an extraction licence to take water to fill the lake which has been approved; this will help raise water quality over the summer.
