Dismantling a fallen willow tree across a remote footbridge near Chippenham

Oh Dear…. Today’s tricky one all done safely by Antony, Jamie, Garry and Len.

Here was a fallen willow tree across a remote footbridge over a watercourse.  We dismantled the tree by climbing with rope and harness.  There was no way of getting anything else to the site as it was across several wet fields.  04 Feb 2020

Chippenham Equestrian Project update

December 2017 before Christmas:

Coming on apace with the new equestrian project in Chippenham.  The stables and horse walker are going in this week,  together with 400 m of native hedge for screening and 300 m of mains power trenched and connected.

Native hedges are quite simply hedges that have developed in an area naturally over thousands of years and continues to thrive,  There are many extremely popular hedges that are native to us here in the UK such as box, beech and hornbeam, as well as alder buckthorn, hazel, guilder rose, spindle, dogwood, holly, dog rose, wild privet, Hawthorn.  Native hedges are also beneficial to the local eco systems, acting as the perfect shelter for local wildlife.  Yew is poisonous for horses so would not be used in this instance.

Now the weather has dried up a little we are able to move the spoil from the 60m x 20m arena along with sand and fibre surface being delivered for us to level.  The stable will be Monarch American style boxes in the barn which gives stables in a large airy building with central passageway. Then a covered horse walker nearby, paddocks and arena with Martin Collins surface laid by ourselves

It’s been a busy few weeks for our fencing team working on an exciting new build Equestrian yard project near Chippenham.

First up we dug a 60 x 20 arena, installed the drainage, fixed the membrane and added 8 inches of stone.

Then we fenced the area and put boards down, all ready for the top surface.

Next will be a new American barn with stables, paddocks, storage building and horse walking to follow with post and rail paddocks.

More posts to follow to keep you updated and for more information about our other fencing projects please see this web page.
