Cherry Pickers are elevated work platforms, also known as MEWPs (mobile elevated work platforms), aerial platforms, boom lifts, articulating boom, man lift, basket crane or hydra-ladders.  It’s a platform or bucket at the end of a hydraulic lifting system.

Cherry Pickers were originally designed for use in orchards where they are still used frequently. Nowadays, though, there are so many other uses, including bat inspections at height. See the foot of the page for a few more uses.

Conservation Contractors are pleased to offer three Cherry Pickers / MEWPs for hire.

• Red Spiderlift 23m Tracked MEWP with a 12.4m outreach. Strong, reliable and lightweight.
• Off-road 4x4 Land Rover Cherry Picker with a working height of up to 14m; the outreach here at 10m height would be 4m. This machine is best suited to confined spaces where our lorry based 26m one would be too big.
• Off-road Blue 4x4 MAN Truck Mounted Platform Cherry Picker with a working height of 25.6m and outreach of 12.0m.

Due to the cost and complexity of our MEWPS and our specialist equipment, they all come for hire with our experienced and qualified operator, and please be prepared to lend a helping hand.

Our VOSCH 1900 series grapple saw makes light work of taking down trees with trunks to approx. 25” diameter, saving manpower and giving more safety to the operators.
