Domestic sleeper retaining wall with close board fencing fitted on top in Market Lavington
We supplied and erected a 15m domestic sleeper retaining wall with 1.8m close board fencing on top in Market Lavington.
Our client had an old conifer hedge which had passed its usefulness and had become an eyesore. We removed the conifers and replaced them with a sleeper retaining wall which was perfect for the sloping ground and banking it needed to retain. Then on top of this, we erected a 1.8m domestic close board fence.
“I used CC to remove my existing hedge and as William and his team were very competent and professional for that job I was happy to instruct them to build the new fence. William came out and we discussed the fence and how it would be erected on a very difficult steeply sloping site and I was impressed by his approach and so was confident that the job would be well done.
The team who came out were very polite and efficient and I am glad to say they did not have a radio blaring out which often is the case with contractors;
they left the site clean and tidy. I was impressed that a couple of days after completion William came to check I was happy with the job.
I would be happy to recommend Conservation Contractors for similar work”.

Converting waste timber to biomass
It seemed a waste to just burn the waste timber from a scrub clearance project, so we are converting waste timber to biomass fuel by chipping.

Dismantle Poplar Tree in Urchfont
Trevor and Matt have joined the team this week and it was “in at the deep end” with a dismantle of a large Poplar Tree in Urchfont followed by a large tidy up…
The tree had become too large for its position close to the house. Urchfont is north of the Salisbury Plain and south east of Devizes.
Post and rail Secret Valley Devizes
Some post and rail we erected in the Secret Valley Devizes that we did a week or so ago. This was a joint effort by the tree division landscaping team and our fencing team. Our remit was to tidy and enhance thus we erected 50m post and rail and a gate. This has to be one of the prettiest villages I’ve ever worked in.
